Mammarella
ABOUT JOSEPH
Joseph Mammarella is a guitarist, composer, and teacher based in Portland. He is best known for his eclectic and energetic playing and unique compositions, which are featured on his latest album Unlimited: Live at The Goodfoot. Aside from his work as a bandleader, he regularly gigs with groups in all different genres, and even had the pleasure to perform with the legendary pop group The Drifters in the spring of 2024.
Born in Canada and raised just outside of Portland, Oregon, Joseph has been surrounded by music his whole life. The son of a classical pianist, he took to guitar at a young age and eventually fell in love with jazz. He continued his education at Portland State University, studying under jazz greats George Colligan, Darrell Grant, and Jeff Putterman, and earned his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies in 2019.

Joseph released his debut single Tattoo in 2021, followed by his studio EP Unleashed in 2022. His latest work Unlimited: Live at The Goodfoot features 3 of his original fusion tunes as well as covers of classic fusion tunes by Chick Corea and Casiopea. It is currently available on Bandcamp, and will be fully available on all streaming services on November 29th.
